Adding Songs
There are four ways to add songs to your library:
- 1
Search
Click the “+” button in the library header to open the search panel. Search by title or artist — results show matches from your own library first, then results from Apple Music complete with artwork, album, and metadata. - 2
Manual (Own Song)
Inside the search panel (opened via the “+” button) you'll find a section at the bottom to enter title and artist manually. Great for originals and songs not found on streaming services. - 3
Batch Import
Click the import icon (arrow up) next to the “+” button to add multiple songs at once. Paste a list in “Artist – Title” format — one song per line. - 4
Via Scan
Scan a photo or PDF of your setlist. AI recognizes the songs automatically — add them to your library right away.
Song Detail View
Click any song to open the detail view. Here you'll find all information and settings at a glance.
Song Info Card
At the top you'll see a card with artwork, title, artist, and streaming links on the left. On desktop, the performance data grid appears to its right, showing BPM, Key, Time Signature, Capo, Duration, Transpose, and Scroll Speed. On mobile, these stack vertically. Click any value in the grid to edit it inline.
Tags & Setlists
Below the performance grid — still inside the song info card — you'll find your tags and a list of setlists the song appears in. Click the “+ Add tag” element to add new tags, or click an existing tag to remove it.
Lyrics & Notes
Below the song info card, lyrics and notes are shown side by side (on desktop: lyrics on the left, notes on the right; on mobile they stack vertically). Click the lyrics preview or the “Edit” button to open the Lyrics Editor. If no lyrics exist yet, an “Add lyrics & chords” button appears instead.
Lyrics & Chords
SetlistBaby supports ChordPro format for lyrics with chords. Edit them via the Lyrics Editor — a full-screen modal with a CodeMirror editor and live preview.
Live Preview
Instantly see how your chords are displayed above the lyrics
Section Buttons
Insert Verse, Chorus, Bridge, and more with one click
Chord Palette
Quickly insert commonly used chords
AI Fix
Gemini auto-corrects formatting and chord placement
Rehearsal Status
In the band context, every song has a rehearsal status that shows its current state. Click the colored edge to cycle to the next status.
- 1
New (blue)
Freshly added — not yet rehearsed. - 2
Needs Practice (orange)
The song still needs work. Great for setting rehearsal priorities. - 3
Ready (green)
Stage-ready — the song is solid.
The status shows as a colored stripe on the right edge of song cards, so you can see your band’s progress at a glance. This stripe only appears in the band context.
